Lock Haven University placed the spotlight on healthy living on Monday, Feb. 27. The LHU Physician Assistant Program and Jersey Shore Hospital teamed up with the LHU Wellness Committee to provide a “mini physical awareness” event. Faculty, staff and students could get their blood pressure and blood glucose checked, and find out their BMI (Body Mass Index) and Bone Density. The LHU Wellness Committee provided information on a variety of health-related topics including the Metabolic Syndrome, which is now becoming a common problem in the United States. Above, students in the LHU Physician Assistant Program checked blood pressure and blood glucose at the “mini physical awareness” event.
