Central Mountain’s Olivia McGhee signs letter-of-intent with Hood College

MILL HALL — Central Mountain senior Olivia McGhee signed her letter-of-intent to continue her swimming career at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland.

McGhee was a captain of the 2018 Central Mountain swim team. She was a member of both the 2017 relay team that set the school-record in the 200-freestyle relay, and the 2018 team that set the school-record in the 400-freestyle relay.

She lettered in swimming all four years in high school.

McGhee was heavily pursued by Hood College.

“Olivia is our strongest recruited swimmer of the 2018 swimming season, and a very welcomed addition to our program,” Hood College swimming coach Don Feinberg said.

McGhee was a strong student in the classroom. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Leaders Save Lives program and she created the “Share the Love” program.

She received the Hood Founder’s Scholarship, the Hodson-Gilliam Scholarship and was accepted into the Hood College honor’s program.

McGhee will major in Biology-Pre Med with a minor in African American Studies when she attends Hood College.
