Joel Robinson is Jersey Shore Homeschool grad
JERSEY SHORE — The Jersey Shore Area Homeschool Association celebrated student milestones with its annual awards and graduation program on May 5 at the Mountain View Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Jersey Shore.
Following a violin prelude by student Catie Harbach, Junior Corbin, representing the youngest of the Association’s co-operative classes, presented a special song in recognition of the class’s semester-long study of Earth’s continents and oceans.
Representing Dr. Lucy Corbin’s American Sign Language Class, Sarah Corbin, Mary Beth Davis, and Catie Harbach performed two songs in American Sign Language. They were assisted by solo vocalist, Junior Corbin.
Caleb Bierly, son of Nathan and Lia Bierly, of Jersey Shore, was given special recognition for advancing to kindergarten.
Paul Robinson, son of Patrick and Heather Robinson, of Avis, was recognized for graduating sixth grade.
Following speeches presented by Luke Robinson, and the sole 2018 graduate, Joel Robinson, the program concluded with the awarding of his high school diploma by his parents.
Joel has been involved with numerous sports throughout his high school career including the Shore Servers volleyball team and Jersey Shore High School’s football and soccer teams.
A volleyball referee for the Jersey Shore YMCA, he has also taught physical education for the Association’s education co-operative and has worked as a counselor at Camp Krislund in Bellefonte.
The Jersey Shore Homeschool Association is a Christian Homeschool community providing support, networking, field-trip opportunities, as well as an educational co-operative to families in and around the Jersey Shore Area.
