Central Mountain Girl’s Tennis hands Mifflinburg 4-1 loss

MIFFLINBURG — The Central Mountain High School Girl’s Tennis team now carries a 2-0 record in the young season after a dominating 4-1 win over Miffllinburg on Monday.

Kendall McCluskey of the Wildcats smacked Allison Wagner with a straight 6-0, 6-0 sweep in the No. 1 singles. In the next singles match, Mifflinburg would get their only win after Abby Underhill would get a narrow 6-4, 6-4 win over Lady Wildcat Carolina Capenetti. In the No. 3 singles, Central Mountain’s Olivia Anastos would also pick up a convicing win — getting a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Cheyenne Sauder of Mifflinburg.

In doubles action, it was more domination from the Wildcats. The combo of Natalie Brown/Kati Kwiatek took care of business against Mifflinburg’s Tiffany Freese/Kiara Gilroy, 6-2, 6-1. In the last doubles match, Lady Wildcats’ Zoe Horton/Eila Talbot took a 5-7 loss in the first set to Rockell Keister/Amber Leitzel, but continued the steamrolling with 6-0, 6-1 wins.
