Star OSU end Nick Bosa will miss game against Penn State
COLUMBUS — Ohio State will be without one of its star defenders when head coach Urban Meyer and the No. 4 Buckeyes travel to No. 9 Penn State on Saturday.
Nick Bosa, an expected top-five 2019 NFL Draft pick and defensive end, will not play against the Lions, Meyer said on Monday. He was hurt in OSU’s victory over TCU two weeks ago and then missed last week’s win over Tulane after having surgery to fix a “core muscle” issue.
“That will be a few weeks,” Meyer said when asked about Bosa’s return, according to Cleveland.com.
Bosa was an All-American in 2017 and the Big Ten’s defensive lineman of the year last season, and he was well on his way to earning both of those honors again before suffering the injury.
Ohio State used a few players in his spot last week, and it’s expected to do so again when it takes on the Lions during the annual ‘Whiteout’ game at Beaver Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m., and ABC will televise the matchup. Meyer also said that the team is expecting running back Mike Weber to be back in action.
