Bucktail baseball swept in doubleheader action

The Bucktail baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to Neumann Regional Academy on Monday afternoon.

In game one the Knights jumped out to an early two-run advantage before Gage Sutliff settled in and was able to stymie the Knights offensive threat.

The Bucks defense continued to improve as it has all season long taking away ground balls that normally sneak through to the outfield, much to the credit of Richard Perry and Zach Pick. In the long run though ,the Neumann offense was just too much to contain as the Knights eventually erupted for five runs in the final two innings to seal a 7-1 victory in game one and clinch a playoff berth.

The Bucks pitching staff rolled out a solid performance, keeping a threatening playoff contender at bay for the majority of the game.

In game two Devin Serafini began the game hurling a gem from the mound early on, striking out five of the first 6 Knights he faced.

In the third inning Neumann’s bats seemed to begin making up for the lack of performance in game one as they erupted for five runs en route to a six inning 11-1 victory.
