LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Laurel Moyer (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) of the regionally-ranked Lock Haven University women’s cross country team has been named this week’s Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week after opening the season with a brilliant performance last Friday.

Moyer, the Bald Eagles leading returner, was impressive and ran to a big win in the Bald Eagles 2019 season-opener (September 6). The junior-standout bested the field in LHU’s annual dual vs. Division I No. 14 Penn State. She crossed the 4,000-meter course in a time of 14:25.95.

The Dolan Duals is a dual-meet vs. Division I Penn State that started back in 2007 and Moyer’s victory marked the first time a LHU women’s runner has claimed an individual victory vs. Penn State. Moyer’s 4K time of 14:25.95 converts to a 6K time of 21:40 which is an elite time by conference standards.
