Penns Valley cross country weekly recap

The Penns Valley boys’ cross country team defeated Tyrone on Tuesday at the PV Environmental Center Course, 16-39. Colton Sands and Brendan Colwell came in at 17:55 and teammate Daniel Kelly broke 18 minutes for the first time, running 17:57. Thaddaeus Smith was fourth in 18:29 and Simon Smith was in sixth place with a time of 18:01.
On Friday, the Rams competed at the Harry Groves PSU Spiked Shoe Invitational and finished 6th in the 16-team race. Brendan Colwell set a new school record, finishing second in 15:29.2. Teammate Colton Sands had the old mark of 15:48 set earlier this year. Sands ran the Penn State Course in 15:43 for third place. Thaddaeus Smith set a new personal best, running a time of 17:51 for 53rd place, and Daniel Kelly ran an 18:02, good for 60th place.
The Rams run at P-O on Tuesday, and they will travel to Hershey for the Foundation Invitational, run on the PIAA’s state course.
