BEA: 14 athletes named League All Stars

Fourteen Bald Eagle Area High School athletes were recently named Mountain League All Stars in their respective sports.

FOOTBALL

Jaden Jones was named the second team quarterback. Jones has been sensational under center this season, completing 120-of-219 passes this season for 1,743 yards and 24 touchdowns. When it mattered most, Jones threw for a season-high six touchdowns in the Eagles’ 41-13 thrashing of Westmont-Hilltop in the District Championship game.

Gage McClenahan was named a first-team athlete for his versatility. He has 45 receptions for 484 yards and five touchdowns through the air, and another 306 rushing yards and one score on the ground.

Providing protection in the trenches was Asher Burkett, who was named a second-team offensive lineman.

Kaden Bittinger’s team-leading 551 receiving yards and eight scores earned him a second team wide receiver selection. Bittinger was also named a second-team defensive back .

Tommy Snyder was named a second-team running back.

On defense, David Close was named a first team defensive lineman. He’s third on the Eagles with 12.5 tackles for loss.

Joining Close were Caleb Burns and Tommy Snyder, who were named second team All League defensive linemen. Snyder leads the Eagles with eight sacks this season.

The Eagles (10-3) play Friday night against Sharon in the PIAA State Quarterfinal round.

BOYS SOCCER

Peter Van Cise was named a first-team defender.

Conner Robinson was named first team goalkeeper after posting a career-high 145 saves in 2019.

Dylan Hess was named a second-team defender. Dillon Barnyak was a second-team forward.

GIRLS SOCCER

Zoey McHenry is a first-team midfielder. She tied for an Eagle-high 12 assists this season.

Falen McHenry was named a first-team forward after a career-high 27 goals in just her sophomore season.

Sarah Holler was named a first-team defender.
