LHU Swimming competes in Day 1 at the PSAC Championships

YORK, Pa. – The Lock Haven University swimming team dove into action at the 2020 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday.

The four day long championships takes place in York, Pa. at the Graham Aquatic Center and the Bald Eagles started the morning with two season best times in the 50-yard freestyle.

In the morning prelims, Mikaela Clemson (Albury, Austrailia/Albury) shaved nearly a half second of her season best time and turned in a time of 25.07. Sol Asparria (Lima, Peru/Saint Mark’s College) also hit her season best mark clocking in at 25.71.

In the evening finals, the Haven relay teams took to the pool in the 200-yard medley and 800-yard freestyle relays. The team of Madison Griffin (Douglasville, Pa./Daniel Boone), Lily Arledge (Richwood, Ohio/River Valley), Kristin Allen (Willow Street, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg), and Asparria finished with a time of 1:56:32 in the 200-yard medley while the team of Clemson, Lauren Mummert (York, Pa./Northeastern), Elizabeth Lyden (Montrose, Pa./Montrose), and Kandace Loup (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) marked a 8:26:64 finish in the 800-yard freestyle.

Next Up: The Bald Eagles get right back into the pool today for the second day of the championships. Prelims start at 10:00 a.m. and the finals once again begin at 6:00 p.m.
