LHU Wrestling: Loperfido, Myers & Ross win titles at Messiah Open

GRANTHAM, Pa. – Competing unattached at Saturday’s Messiah Open, Brandon Loperfido (Columbia, Pa./Hempfield), Kollin Myers (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) and Jonathan Ross (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York) all won individual titles, and Colin Fegley (Mahanoy, Pa./Mahanoy) was third as the Lock Haven University wrestling team dominated the tournament field Saturday, Feb. 8.

Loperfido was 4-0 with a tech fall and a pin at 133 pounds. Myers went 4-0 with two majors and a pin on the way to the win at 149. Ross continued his run of dominance during his redshirt season and claimed the 157-pound title after going 4-0 with a major, pin and tech fall.

Fegley was 5-1 at 184.


Next Saturday (February 22), LHU will host nationally-ranked Cornell in non-conference dual action, before hosting the Mat-Town Open II Tournament on Sunday, February 23.
