The PIAA issued an update Monday on the status of the spring sports season– and fans will have an increased-wait time as the season has been delayed again.
The PIAA elected to delay the Winter Championships and springs sports season by two weeks, complying with Governor Wolf’s stay-at-home directive to combat the rapid spread of the COVID-19.
“No date has been determined to re-start any sports activities at this time,” the PIAA said through a press release. “PIAA will continue to receive information from the Governor’s office, the Department of Health and the Department of Education to provide updated information.”
The two-week postponement restricts teams from practicing and engaging in any organized-team activities.
The current postponement expires and allows teams to resume practicing on April 7.
