Bald Eagle Area hires 3 new coaches

Bald Eagle Area hired a total of three new coaches at its latest board meeting.

The administration hired Kris Glunt (boys basketball), Shawn Thompson (girls basketball) and Harley Yoder (cheerleading).

Glunt has been a varsity boy’s coach for seven years — four at Bellefonte and three at Mo Valley.

Thompson was a Mount Pleasant track and field coach and was an assistant basketball and football coach there as well. He also has seven years experience as a PIAA basketball official.

Yoder was a cheerleader in high school in Oregon and became a coach after being injured during her senior year. She was hired at 19 to be a coach in Oregon at a Class AA Catholic school that was in its first year of competitive cheer and went on to win a state championship.
