Local roundup: McHenry’s 2 goals helps BEA girls win

Falen McHenry scored twice and had an assist as Bald Eagle Area defeated Juniata, 3-0, in girls soccer. Angelina Grieb and Mackenzie Vozniak split time in goal for BEA and both recorded five saves.

“The girls moved the ball very well tonight and controlled possession. I was hapy with how they played,” BEA coach Jared Moore said. “Sarah holler played a very solid game in midfield. I thought she helped control the pace of the game and fed a lot of really good balls through to the forwards helping to create scoring opportunities. The defense was lights out all game.”

• Bucktail defeated North Penn-Mansfield, 5-2, in girls tennis. The Bucks earned wins at Nos. 2-4 singles from Brittany Jones, Taylor Pompili and Alysia Williams, respectively.

“Even our newest players Erin Poleto and Trish Gentzyel won in doubles today,” Bucktail coach Dan Heiser said. “We are real fortunate to have a complete line-up of ten girls that want to give it their all and win, we’re really proud of how we’ve started this season.”
