District 6 playoffs set to begin Tuesday in boys, girls soccer
The District 6 playoff brackets were released Friday afternoon for both boys and girls soccer, and plenty of area teams will be looking to make a deep run.
In the District 6 Class AAA tournament, top-seeded Bellefonte hosts Tyrone on Monday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. The winner advances to play for the district championship against either Penn Cambria or Hollidaysburg. The final is set for kickoff on Thursday, Nov. 5.
Bald Eagle Area is seeded eighth and will travel to play at Central Cambria on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the District 6 Class AA quarterfinals. On the other side of the bracket, second-seeded Penns Valley will host Philipsburg-Osceola for a 6 p.m. kick Tuesday.
The Penns Valley/P-O winner will face either Westmont Hilltop or Richland in the semifinals. The BEA/Central Cambria winner will play either Huntingdon or Cambria Heights in the semifinals.
In girls soccer, Penns Valley will travel to Bald Eagle Area to face West Branch on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the District 6 Class A semifinals. The winner will face either Bishop Guilfoyle or Bishop McCort in the championship on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Bald Eagle Area secured the fourth seed in the District 6 Class AA playoffs and will host Forest Hills in the quarterfinals Tuesday at 6 p.m. The winner will advance to the semifinals to play either Central or Bedford on Thursday.
Bellefonte is postseason bound and has the No. 3 seed in the District 6 Class AAA semifinals. The Raiders travel to Mansion Park to play Tyrone for a 7 p.m. game Thursday. The winner will face Hollidaysburg in the championship game. Hollidaysburg received a bye into the final as only three teams were in the field.
