Local roundup: Lock Haven Branch YMCA gymnastics team honors its 2 CM seniors

The Lock Haven Branch YMCA gymnastics team honored its two Central Mountain seniors at their home meet Saturday against Huntingdon. Harleigh Andrews and Tatum Malone were recognized at the conclusion of the meet.

Andrews is in her 11th season with the team. After graduating she plans on attending Penn State Altoona to major in Nursing to become a registered nurse.

Malone is in her eighth season on the team. She plans to attend Lock Haven University where she will major in English and postsecondary education and study to become a liberal arts college professor.

The gymnastics team performed well. In the A Team 16 and Up division, Malone placed first in the all-around (34.4), floor (8.8), and bars (8.45). Andrews placed third in the all-around (33.55), second on floor (8.7), bars (8.35) and vault (8.5). Hannah Brown placed third on beam (8.3) and fourth on floor (7.95) and in the all-around (29.35).

In the B Team 9 and Under age group, Abigail Immel placed first in the all-around (24.4), vault (7.0), and bars (5.1). Kinley White placed second in the All Around (17.3), bars (4.4) and third on floor (5.4).

In the B Team 10 and 11 age group, Harper Conklin placed second in the all-around (30.6), beam (8.5) and bars (6.3). Evelyn Nestor placed third on vault (8.15), tied for fifth on beam (7.4) and fifth on floor (7.0). Gracie Grieco placed fourth on bars (5.95), tied for fifth on beam (7.4) and sixth on floor (6.5).

In the B Team 12-year-old division, Sierra Culvey placed fourth on floor (4.9), vault (7.5) and fifth on beam (4.0).

In the B Team 13 and over division, Samantha Streator placed fourth on beam (7.8), floor (6.65) and vault (7.4). Emily Everett placed fourth on bars (4.5), fifth on beam (5.4) and floor (6.2).

The pre-team performers competed on beam and floor with Ashlynn Confer placing first on beam (4.1) and third on floor (3.8), Allie Weaver placing second on beam (2.9) and floor (4.15), and Cailin Courter placing third on beam (2.6) and first on floor (5.4).

The B Team fell to Huntingdon, 128.75- 112.25.

• Penns Valley beat Bellwood-Antis, 50-33, in boys basketball. Zach Braucht led Penns Valley with 23 points and hit three 3-pointers. Kyle Niewinski had 12 points and John Aston scored 10.
