Local roundup: CM golf takes care of Montoursville

The Central Mountain golf team improved on its strong season by defeating Montoursville Monday afternoon at the Clinton County Country Club.

The Wildcats won, 178-186, over the Warriors. During the league match, Griff Walizer’s 42 paced CM as Gunder Redmond and Gardy Fravel each recorded a 45. Peyton Newlen rounded out the scoring for CM with a 46. Other notable scores from CM included Evan Walker (45) and Brayden Blaackwell (46).

• Jersey Shore tennis is now 9-1 after its, 5-0, shutout win over Mifflinburg Monday. Peyton Dincher, Celia Shemory and Haley Shadle each were victorious in singles for the Bulldogs. In doubles action, Rahel Hartman and Breanna Porter won in No 1s. The combination of Ella Gerst and Hannah Sweet were victorious in No 2s.

• CM tennis fell to Selinsgrove Monday. The Wildcats’ lone win came in No. 3 singles as Zeta Blesh earned the win. With the loss, CM moved to a record of 5-4.

• The BEA girls soccer team fell, 2-0, to Hollidaysburg Monday. In the loss, Mackenzie Vozniak had 10 saves for the Eagles. BEA’s record now sits at 3-2.
