Shore, Bucktail teams don’t advance to D4 semifinals

No Jersey Shore or Bucktail doubles team was able to advance to Wednesday’s District 4 semifinals after Monday’s first three rounds were played.

The tournament opened at Williamsport with the first three rounds being played.

Bucktail’s Kayla Probert and Emma Poorman defeated Bloomsburg’s Abby Burrell and Brooke Garman in a three-set first-round, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1. The duo then fell to Lewisburg’s Grace Hilkert and Bridget Kinnaman, 6-3, 6-4, in the second round.

Jersey Shore’s Rahel Hartman and Breana Porter lost to Lyoalsock’s Maddy Hall and Izzy Dadzie in the first round, 6-2, 7-5. Jersey Shore’s Haley Shadle and Celia Shemory lost in an exciting three-set match to Lewisburg’s Katelyn Fessler and Jaydene Thomas, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6.

Bucktail’s Bella English and Alexis Lowery also fell in the first round in the bottom half of the bracket to Central Columbia’s Megan Minnig and Riley Noss, 6-2, 6-0.
