LHU’s Kiser, Kroll named athletes of the week

Sadie Kiser (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) of the Lock Haven University women’s track and field team was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Athlete of the Week for her strong performance at the Susquehanna Invitational.

Kiser ran a stellar race on Saturday evening in the 5,000-meter as she controlled the race from the start of the gun. Kiser tucked herself in behind two runners as she waited to make her move. With four laps remaining, Kiser surged past the two runners and went on to win the race with a time of 18:39.36. Kiser’s time also earned her a PSAC-qualifying mark in the 5K.The Bald Eagles are back in action Friday, January 21 when they head to Youngstown State for the YSU Collegiate Invite starting at 12:30 p.m.

Gage Krall (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) the Lock Haven University men’s indoor track and field team was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Athlete of the Week following his performance at Saturday’s (Jan. 15) Susquehanna Invitational. At this weekend’s Susquehanna Invitational, Krall hit the starting line with the goal of qualifying for the conference meet in the 5,000-meter race. The sophomore grabbed on to a fast pace and did not let it go as he pulled away from the field during the closing laps and finished in first place with a time of 15:44.5. Krall’s blazing time in the 5K on Saturday is also the fastest overall time in the PSAC. The Bald Eagles are back in action Friday, January 21st at the YSU Collegiate Invitational. That meet is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m.
