CLEVELAND – The Division I Lock Haven men’s wrestling team was picked second in the 2024-25 Mid-American Conference (MAC) preseason coaches’ poll, which was released today (Oct. 30). Anthony Noto, Wyatt Henson and Nick Stonecheck were all ranked No. 1 at their respective weight classes to the start the season.

The Bald Eagles are set to open the 2024-25 season in the coming days.

Noto, a two-time All-American, has made the move to 133 pounds and despite the jump in weight class, he’s still the No. 1 wrestler in the MAC.

Henson will start the season ranked No. 1 at 141 pounds and Stonecheck sits atop the 149-pound weight class.

In all, nine of 10 Bald Eagles are ranked in the top-10 of their respective weight class with seven ranked in the top-five, and four in the top-three. Transfer James Lledo is ranked No. 3 at 184 pounds. Lock Haven’s full list of MAC preseason rankings is listed below.

In the preseason team rankings, Central Michigan narrowly edged out Lock Haven as the Chippewas were tabbed as the preseason favorite. George Mason was picked third, while No. 4 Ohio and No. 5 SIU Edwardsville rounded out the top-five teams in the preseason rankings.

Additionally, Noto, Henson, Stonecheck and Nick Stampoulos are all ranked this week nationally by InterMat.

Noto is ranked at 133 pounds for the first time, debuting at No. 8. Henson is ranked No. 28 (141 lbs.), Stonecheck is ranked No. 33 (149 lbs.) and Stampoulous is ranked No. 30 (157 lbs.). Noto – a senior-standout – is coming off a third-place (125 lbs.) finish at last season’s national tournament and is looking to cap his already remarkable Bald Eagle career in style in Philadelphia at the 2025 NCAA Championships in March. Henson is a returning national qualifier for Lock Haven, and, Stampoulos – a redshirt-sophomore transfer – was a national qualifier last season for Buffalo.

Lock Haven – ranked No. 25 in the nation as a team by FloWrestling – will officially open the season on Sunday, Nov. 3 at the Princeton Open.

The Bald Eagles’ 2024-25 schedule features eight home events including six dual matches. The first home event will come on Thursday, Nov. 14 when the Bald Eagles host longtime local rival Bloomsburg.
