CM’s Bair has success on Day 1 of PIAA Class AAA championships

The first day of Class AAA competition got underway on Friday morning at Bucknell for the state swimming championships with preliminary races.

Central Mountain senior Camryn Bair finished 13th in the girls 50 free after she swam a time of 24.30 in the B finals. In the A finals, State College’s Molly Workman won state gold in 22.44.

Earlier in the day, Bair swam a time of 24.21 in the 50 free, shaving time in her event, to reach the B finals. The senior — who holds six individual records at Central Mountain and is part of two relay teams which broke records — is the only Central Mountain swimmer competing at the state meet. Bair will also swim on Saturday in the 100 breast.

Bair reached the B finals last year in the 50 free as well.

This story will be updated after Friday’s finals and consolations conclude.

Starting at $3.69/week.
