Local roundup: Shore boys tennis defeats Selinsgrove 4-1
Jersey Shore cruised past Selinsgrove, 4-1, for a season-opening victory.
The Bulldogs swept the singles competition. Ryder Fink defeated Lomond Rodgers, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 1 singles while Saul Hensler had a 6-0, 6-2 win against Ben Rowan at No. 2. Jersey Shore’s Abram Paulhamus won at No. 3 singles against Joaquin Basu, 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles competition, Jersey Shore saw its No. 1 team of Ezra Paulhamus and Dillon Harsanyi earn a 6-4, 11-9 win over Andon Kloosta and John Ke.
• Penns Valley lost to Juniata in baseball action, 7-2. Colby Miller led Penns Valley on the mound, throwing four solid innings with just two hits allowed.
At the plate, Ben Karc went 2 for 3 with two doubles and a run and Brayden Kurtz had a 2 for 3 effort with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored.
• The Lock Haven golf team opened its 2025 spring season on Monday afternoon by competing in the Lebanon Valley Invitational at Lebanon Valley Country Club.
On a crisp Monday afternoon, the Bald Eagles turned in a total team score of 413 to finish just outside of the top-5. Skylar Smith led the way with a 97 (+25) to place tied for 12th in her return to the Bald Eagle lineup.
Macy Trostle finished just behind Smith with a 98 (over 26), while Kendall Fedder rounded out the top-three with a 103, which tied for 22nd.
