Muthler to represent Bald Eagles at Indoor Championships

INDIANAPOLIS — Matthew Muthler of the Lock Haven men’s indoor track and field team has been selected to compete in the heptathlon at the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The national championships will be held March 13 – 14 in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Fall Creek Pavillion at Indiana State Fairgrounds. The University of Indianapolis and Indiana Sports Corporation will serve as co-hosts for the indoor championships being held in Indianapolis for the first time.

Muthler is coming off a record setting weekend (March 1-2) at the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. He became a PSAC Champion in the heptathlon where he set a new PSAC Conference and meet record with 5266 points. That performance also broke the Lock Haven program record for the second time this season.

Throughout the two-day event Muthler topped the field in three events, including high jump, shot put, and the 1000-meter with a leap of 1.96-meters (6-05), a throw of 12.28-meters (40-03.50) and a time of 2:36.00.

Muthler’s score ranks seventh in the country to earn a trip to the NCAA Championship.
