Little League Baseball, Softball World Series first-round pairings released

The tournament is all set for the Little League Baseball and Softball World Series tournaments as the first-round pairings for both were released.

The Little League Baseball World Series begins in South Williamsport on Wednesday, Aug. 13 and the Little League Softball World Series begins in Greenville, North Carolina on Sunday, Aug. 3.

The Series in South Williamsport begins with a 1 p.m. game on Wednesday, Aug. 13 at Volunteer Stadium between Puerto Rico and the Latin America regional champions. The Mountain regional champions face the Great Lakes regional champion at Lamade Stadium at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13.

Panama will face Australia at 5 p.m. at Volunteer Stadium and the first day of action wraps up with the Southwest regional champion playing the Metro regional champion at 7 p.m.

On Thursday, Aug. 14, four games are scheduled with an additional four being played on Friday, Aug. 15.

On that Thursday, Japan will face the Europe-Africa champion at Volunteer Stadium at. 1p.m. and the Southeast regional champion faces the New England regional champion at Lamade Stadium at 3 p.m. Mexico will face the Asia-Pacific regional champion at 5 p.m. at Volunteer and the day wraps up with the Midwest regional champion playing the Mid-Atlantic regional champion at 7 p.m at Lamade.

That Friday’s action begins with Canada playing either Puerto Rico or Latin America at 1 p.m. at Volunteer. The Northwest regional champion faces either the Mountain regional champion or Great Lakes regional champion at Lamade at 3 p.m. The Caribbean regional champions face Panama or Australia at 5 p.m. at Volunteer and the West regional champions face either the Southwest regional champions or the Metro regional champions at 7 p.m. at Lamade.

The Little League Softball World Series opens on Sunday, Aug. 3 with the Northwest regional champion facing the Southeast regional champion at 10 a.m., followed by North Carolina playing Latin America at. 1p.m., Canada playing Europe-Africa at 4 p.m. and the New England regional champion playing the Mid-Atlantic regional champion at 7 p.m.

Monday features four games as well with the Central regional champion facing either North Carolina or Latin America at 10 a.m., the Southwest regional champion facing either the Northwest regional champion or Southeast regional champion at 1 p.m., the West regional champion facing either the New England regional champion or Mid-Atlantic regional champion at 4 p.m. and finally Asia-Pacific facing either Canada or Europe-Africa at 7 p.m.
