Dale Schweikart of Linden secured his seventh career RaceSaver feature event It was Schweikarts 41st career victory spanning eight different divisions in the speedway’s record books

MILL HALL — On Friday night at the Clinton County Speedway, wily veteran Dale Schweikart of Linden secured his seventh career RaceSaver feature event It was Schweikarts 41st career victory spanning eight different divisions in the speedway’s record books.

AY Schilling of Linden became the Speedway’s leading Pro Stock feature winner, with 46 all-time wins. AJ Stroup of Richfield won the second pro stock main event as Jeff Weaver Jr. of Lock Haven won the 270 micro sprints and Zak Kline of Mill Hall won the four cylinders.

Pole-sitter John Walp of Wapwallopen lead the first two circuits of the 25-lap RaceSaver sprint car main event. Schweikart who started fourth, made a pass for the lead by the completion of lap three. By the completion of lap five, Schweikart was leading Walp, his son Dakota Schweikart, Reed Thompson and Matt Tebbs.

Tebbs moved into the fourth spot on lap ten. On lap 13, Dakota Schweikart’s car slowed on the front straight-away to bring out the caution. Following the restart, the caution flag emerged once again, as Jeff Weaver Jr. and Timmy Bittner tangled on the back straight-away.

As the drivers came back to full speed, Schweikart was leading Walp, Tebbs, Thompson and Colby Womer. On lap 17, Womer advanced to the fourth position. As the laps wound down, Schweikart was catching the rear of the field with a sizeable lead. But cautiously approaching the lapped traffic gave Walp and Tebbs an opportunity to change the fate of the event.

Schweikart worked this way though lapped traffic and on occasions has two lapped cars between himself and Walp. On lap 23, Kasey Weaver entered the top five running order. At the finish, Schweikart secured the win over Walp, Tebbs, Womer and Weaver. Sixth through tenth were Reed Thompson, Ken Duke Jr., Kolby Weaver, Ryan Lynn and Timmy Bittner.

The pro stocks had double feature events on Friday. In the first event Schilling started on the front row with Cory Long. Schilling took the lead at the drop of the green flag with Long and Tommy Dawson in the top three. At the midway point, Schilling was leading Long, Dawson, AJ Stoup, and Denny Fourney. On lap ten, Long made a pass for the lead as the top two were quickly gaining on lapped traffic.

On lap 12, the caution came out for Tommy Dawson, as Long and Stroup were battling with lapped traffic. Long tangled with the lapped car and took his car to the pit area. Schilling brought the field back to the green flag and held on for the historic win, breaking the tie with Tim Krape for the all-time pro stock win record. AJ Stroup finished second followed by AJ Hoffman, Denny Fourney and Rich Fye.

In the second pro stock feature event, Denny Fourney led the first half of the race until a caution occurred for two races cars. Following the restart. AJ Hoffman made a pass for the lead. As Hoffman took the lead, the top four cars of Hoffman, Fourney, Cory Long and AJ Stroup were all in contention and had an intense battle for the lead.

On lap 12, Stroup emerged as the new race leader, letting the other top four cars battle for postion. Stroup continued to hang on leading the final three laps to secure the victory over Hoffman, Long, Fourney and Larry Knight. Sixth through tenth were AY Schilling, Kris Orwig, Ronald Ergott III, Jason Koch and Jesse Farley.

Tyler Clowes used this front row starting spot to take the early lead of the 270 Micro Sprint feature event. Jeff Weaver Jr. quickly moved into the second position but had to contend with Mac Wert. Wert took the second spot from Weaver on lap number three, with Weaver regaining the position two laps later. As the leaders crossed the line to complete the fifth lap, a four-car incident occurred in Turn 4 to slow the field.

With the restart, Clowes brought the field of Weaver, Wert, Jillian Mauer and Alex Lukacs running in the top five. On lap nine, the red flag waved when Tom Quiggle hit the turn two wall. Quiggle was ok. Clowes again brought the field back to green flag racing conditions with Weaver in a close second.

Andrew Rickets led the opening laps of the four cylinder main event. By lap five, Ricketts was leading, Garrett Lucas, Zak Kline, Matt Weaver and Larry Beachel. The top five ran in pack, with Kline advancing to second place by lap six and taking the lead by lap seven. Matt Weaver took the runner up post by lap nine.

Kline continued to pace the field to secure the win over Weaver, Ricketts, Garrett Lucas and Larry Beachel. Sixth through tenth were Coty Maines, Terry Karichner, Kevin Trimpey, Summer Beachel and Jolene Snook.
