MILL HALL – After a strong Friday night from the Central Mountain girls basketball team, the young group of Wildcats found themselves in a battle for the title Saturday night against Brookville for the Mike Flanagan Memorial Tournament championship.

The young Central Mountain squad held their own for the three quarters keeping things close. But in the final quarter, the Raiders were able to break a tie going on a 13-4 run, defeating Central Mountain, 43-34.

Leading the way offensively for Central Mountain was Camdyn Weaver who posted a 12-point effort. Reagan Weaver rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10,

“It was two things combined tonight. We turned the ball over way too much tonight and we couldn’t make a shot. When you put those two together you don’t have a good recipe for a well oiled offensive machine,” said Central Mountain coach Scott Baker. “I think we could sum it up best that way. We have some growing to do and we’ll be OK.”

Despite the loss, the Wildcats finished as tournament runner ups as teammates Camdyn Weaver finished as all-tournament team and Reagan Weaver captured the all-defensive player of the tournament.
