From staff reports
LOCK HAVEN — Jenadia Jordan recorded a triple-double and the Lock Haven women’s basketball game won its fourth straight game to open its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East schedule as the Bald Eagles soared past Millersville, 79-48, in Thomas Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon.
Jordan, who is already a 1,000-point career scorer, has taken over the playmaking role this season and it was on full display on Saturday.
Jordan’s triple-double, the first in program history, featured 10 points, 11 rebounds and a game-high 10 assists. Jordan also helped lead the strong Bald Eagle defensive effort, adding three steals and a block.
The victory was the fourth straight for Lock Haven, who is now 10-5 overall, 6-3 in the PSAC and a perfect 4-0 in the Eastern Division. The Bald Eagles also improved to 7-1 in front of the home crowd. Millersville fell to 8-8 on the season and 4-6 in conference play.
Lock Haven used a 19-point second quarter to create separation, turning a 14-10 first-quarter edge into a 14-point halftime lead at 33-19. Lock Haven blew the game open after the break and outscored the Marauders 46-29 over the final 20 minutes.
Madeline Evans paced four Bald Eagles in double figures with a game-high 22 points on 7 of 9 shooting, adding 10 rebounds for a double-double. Rhlyn Rouse nearly matched that effort with 11 points and a game-high 16 rebounds as Lock Haven owned a 51-22 advantage on the glass and scored 36 points in the paint.
Alana Robinson filled the stat sheet with 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals, while Lacey Kriebel came off the bench to knock down five 3-pointers and finish with 15 points, helping the Bald Eagles’ reserves outscore Millersville’s bench 21-15.
Lock Haven limited Millersville to 28 percent shooting from the field and just 22 points in the paint, forcing 15 Marauder turnovers and converting them into 14 points.
The Bald Eagles are back on the road and will visit East Stroudsburg on Wednesday, Jan. 21 for a 5:30 p.m. PSAC battle.
