Centre jumps 91; Clinton adds 22 cases of COVID-19
The numbers just keep climbing.
Centre County added 91 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Its total now stands at 5,502. Clinton County added 22 cases of the deadly virus. Its total now stands at 490.
Throughout the state, the DOH said there are 6,808 additional positive cases of COVID-19. That brings the statewide total to 295,786. The number is second highest one-day total, exceeded only by Thursday’s 7,125 new cases.
The DOH reports there were 108 new deaths on Friday. That brings the death toll in Pennsylvania to 9,689. Pennsylvania has topped 100 deaths in each of the last three days.
As far as negative tests are concerned, Centre County now has 43,179 negative tests. Clinton County has had 5,691 of its residents test negative.
Lycoming County added 47 cases on Friday and now has 1,580 cases. In other nearby counties, the numbers look like this: Blair (3,105), Cambria (2,877) Union (1,187), Clearfield (1,076), Potter (125) and Cameron (17).
