LOCK HAVEN -- The Prescription Drug Take Back Program netted over 160 pounds of drugs in Clinton County in 2023.
District Attorney Dave Strouse announced that the program, operated by his office, recovered and safely disposed of 164.4 pounds of unwanted or unused prescription medications.
Strouse and Chief County Detective Jim Edwards, who directly oversees the collection program, significantly expanded the county take back program beginning in 2016 and now collect unused or unwanted prescription drugs at five locations across Clinton County.
"Please take the time to help your family members, especially the elderly, clean out their unwanted and expired medication and take them to one of the five Medication Drop Boxes located throughout Clinton County," the release said.
Drop boxes are located at the following facilities:
-- Lock Haven City Hall, 20 E. Church St., Lock Haven
-- Garden Building, 232 E. Main St., Lock Haven
-- Pine Creek Police Department, 31 Municipal Drive, Avis
-- Renovo District Court, 112 Ninth St., Renovo
-- Pennsylvania State Police-Lamar, 113 Boyd Road, Mill Hall
Take back locations do not accept needles.
