Finding Faith: From pessimism to optimism, lessons from Psalm 73

What makes the difference between pessimism and optimism? If you think about it, the actual facts are the same, so it’s not the facts. Rather the difference is where you, the observer, are focusing. Is it the negative facts, or the positive facts? We find this phenomenon in the 73rd Psalm, a psalm of Asaph. Feast Day of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross celebrated on Sept. 13 and 14

This feast is celebrated by several Christian churches under a variety of titles, all stemming from the early days of Christianity. Around 325 St Helena, the mother of Emperor Constatine, is believed through a miraculous event to have determined the identity of the Cross upon which Jesus Christ suffered to redeem humanity. Her son built a basilica over the sepulcher where Jesus had been laid, which was dedicated on September 13th, 335 AD and the following day the cross was presented for veneration.
