WASHINGTON (AP) — Younger students have regained ground academically after the pandemic’s disruptions while older students’ test scores continue to stagnate, according to the latest testing data released Wednesday by the federal government. Canada seeks to ban social media accounts for children under 16, joining growing global effort

TORONTO (AP) — Canada introduced legislation on Wednesday that could bar children younger than 16 from having social media accounts unless the companies show they can make their platforms safe. Canada is joining a growing global effort to tighten safety protections. Bone health is the focus of a Penn State Extension program

STATE COLLEGE — Penn State Extension’s in-person workshop series, “Build Your Bones,” is focused on preventing osteoporosis and maintaining bone health. The in-person classes will occur from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, from June 23 to Aug. 4, at the Special Services Building, 151 Standing Stone Ln., State College. Penn State Extension offers group-based strength training program

BOALSBURG — Penn State Extension will offer a group-based strength training program for adults ages 40 and above. “Lifelong Improvements Through Fitness Together” is aimed at improving functional fitness, or the ability to perform daily activities with ease. Ford recall for seat belt issue and a do-not-drive order for some Bronco Sport and Maverick vehicles

Ford is recalling almost 420,000 vehicles because of a seat belt issue that may result in an injury if a crash occurs. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a report Tuesday that the recall includes certain Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles with model years 2018 through 2022. The issue involves seat belts that may lock inadvertently, not allowing them to retract or extend.
