CMMS cheerleaders show their school spirit.
CMMS held a school wide pep rally on Friday, Sept. 30 during WIN time. It was a chance for the whole school to participate in some school spirit prior to the homecoming festivities at the high school. The pep rally was at the middle school football field. There were many activities for the teachers and the student athletes. Students entered the stadium to music from the CMMS band. There were games, challenges and cheerleaders hyping students and staff up.
Students from the chorus sang the Star Spangled Banner, led by Mrs. Teresa Poole. Then the fall student athlete teams were introduced by 8th grader emcees Jordan Heggenstaller and Lewis Montgomery.
The first challenge was the fastest team to wrap a teacher in toilet paper. Each grade level from 5-8 had a teacher representative and students to wrap them up.
The second challenge was a football throwing competition. The teachers were at half field. They had to throw a football. Several teachers threw it 25 yards.
The third challenge was a race between the teachers and students. They had to complete an obstacle course. They jumped over things, crawled, and dove at the end.
Many students wore face paint to show their school spirit as well as wearing blue and white.
It was a really fun activity and everyone loved it. Students were cheering for each other and rumbling the bleachers to cheer on their teachers in the challenges.
