The Emergency Services Club is run by Mr. Trevor Reeder and Mr. Chad Laubscher. These teachers organized an opportunity for club members to see a police helicopter on April 21. This opportunity allowed the club members to see how the police helicopter worked.

This particular helicopter cost four and half million dollars. It can go up to 138 MPH. Its propeller can rotate at a rate of 400-500 rotations per minute. It weighs 4 tons. The helicopter has a thermal imaging camera and a spotlight. All of these tools allow police personnel to see from above. It gives police a bird’s eye view of situations.

The two pilots had different experiences; one had been doing it for a few years and the other one was new to it.

This was an amazing experience that won’t be soon forgotten for the students in the Emergency Services Club.

Starting at $3.69/week.
