Richard and Velma Winner marking 70th anniversary
Richard and Velma Winner will be observing their 70th wedding anniversary on August 16 and friends and family are invited to congratulate them at a celebration on Saturday, August 17 at Riverview Park in Woodward Township.
They were united in marriage on August 16, 1949 by Pastor Herman Bubb in Lock Haven. They spent their honeymoon at Niagara Falls.
They reside at the home they built together and lived in most of their married years in Croak Hollow.
Richard is a World War II Marine veteran. He retired from Conrail as a crew dispatcher in 1984 after 36 years of service. He kept busy with numerous jobs after retirement. Velma retired from Keystone Central School District as a teachers’ aide in 1985.
They have been members of Hillview Wesleyan Church for more than 60 years and have served numerous positions over the years.
The couple has three children Steve (Penny) Winner of Etters Pa, Chris (Bill) Adams of Lock Haven, and Carol (John) Colucci of Lock Haven. There are nine grandchildren and three great grandsons.
An anniversary celebration in their honor will be held by their family Saturday, August 17, at Riverview Park in Lockport pavilion #3 from 1-3 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
