Thompsons celebrate 70 years of marriage

Ronald and Carolyn Thompson of Salladasburg are observing their 70th wedding anniversary on March 17, 2021.

They were married by the Rev. Robert Fleck in Salladasburg United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Thompson is the former Carolyn Cohick. She was born in Lock Haven, a daughter of the late Lewis and Clara Miller Cohick. Carolyn graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1949 and Lock Haven Teachers College in 1953. She is a retired elementary school teacher in the Jersey Shore Area School District.

Ronald was born in Jersey Shore, a son of the late Clair and Annie Thompson.

He is a 1949 graduate of Jersey Shore High School and retired co-owner of Thompson’s Meat Packing Company.

The couple are parents of two daughters, Ronna Thompson (Donald Faulkner) of Beech Creek, and Carol Barrows (Keith) of Jersey Shore, and a son Dennis Thompson (Robin) of Jersey Shore.

They have seven granddaughters, a step-grandson, eight great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren.

The couple will be honored at a family celebration.
