Donald and Yvonne Smith, of Jersey Shore, celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Dec. 28, 2023. Yvonne Shalett Smith, also known as Vonnie, is the daughter of the late Irving and Alice Shalett. She graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1962. Don is the son of the late Harry and Frances Smith and graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1960. They were married at Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Jersey Shore. Don taught school for 36 years, was a coach and athletic director. Vonnie worked for Senator Roger Madigan and later at UPMC. She was also involved in many community activities. They had two wonderful daughters, the late Kellie and Lisa. Don and Von are blessed with a son-in-law, Dave Lovett, and two beautiful granddaughters, Madison and Jennifer Lovett. Don and Von still reside in Jersey Shore.
