BENV Kiwanis supports Infant Development Program

LOCK HAVEN -- The Kiwanis Club of Bald Eagle and Nittany Valleys recently celebrated birthdays at the Infant Development Program.
Each year, BENV provides birthday boxes to the children at IDP so each has the opportunity to celebrate. In the spirit of sharing, the club provided treats for the students as they gathered for storytime, where BENV Vice President Linda Walker and Secretary Penny Meyers read various books to the kids of the morning program.
IDP was established in 1974 in the corner of a room in the Lock Haven Hospital with just five children. Today, the program hosts many children in its own Water Street location.
The philosophy of the program is that "every child has the right to achieve his or her potential -- physically, mentally, socially and emotionally," and they "view (each) child as unique and integrate all realms of development in a comprehensive program."
The Kiwanis Club of BENV "adopted" Infant Development in 2015 and has been supporting it in various ways for the past eight years.
Chartered in 2012, the Kiwanis Club of Bald Eagle and Nittany Valleys is dedicated to making the world a better place by providing opportunities for children, youth and their families.
