LAMAR -- WoodmenLife Chapter 691 members gathered on Oct. 19, 2024, for their annual fall banquet. The banquet was held at and catered by the Nittany Valley Fire Company in Lamar.
More than 80 attended the banquet and enjoyed a wonderful meal and a prize giveaway. The prizes were all having a fall theme.
In addition to local WoodmenLife Chapter 691 members and officers, the banquet was also attended by Michaela Giebel, the regional director, and Community Outreach Advisor Mickey Pennington, along with other WoodmenLife dignitaries.
During the banquet, a moment of silence was observed to honor the memory of our local chapter members who have passed away since the banquet was held last fall.
According to former WoodmenLife field agent Larry Butler, our local members have continued to keep Chapter 691 a 5-Star Chapter. A 5-Star designation is the highest rating a chapter can achieve, and our local membership has held a 5-Star rating for 15 consecutive years now.
Chapter 691 is very active during the year with events and gatherings throughout the community. From picking up litter along the roadway in Lamar, to hosting dinners, to riding floats in local parades, to donating food to food banks and animal supplies to the SPCA and providing financial donations to fire companies and beyond, Chapter 691 is proud to be a part of the Woodmen Cares campaign.
