Howard Area Lions Club applied to First Commonwealth Bank in Beech Creek for a community grant with the bank recently awarding the club with $1,500 towards their Food Bank services. The grant will be used by the club for their planned walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer project that will house the frozen foods that are given out twice a month to residents seeking food bank assistance from the club's Food Bank. Howard Area Lions Food Bank is headquartered at the former Beech Creek Elementary School.
