LOCK HAVEN -- On July 18, local golfers took part in the 20th Annual Deb Shirey Memorial Golf Tournament at the Clinton Country Club. Eighty-eight golfers participated in the event that was hosted by Lanning Music Studio.
Dinner was provided after the event where prizes were awarded for outstanding play. There was also a very successful basket raffle. A group of friends of Deb Shirey organized the event in her honor after she lost her battle with cancer. As a result, all of the proceeds from the event, $8,445, have been donated to Relay For Life of Clinton County.
The Deb Shirey Memorial Golf Tournament has consistently supported the American Cancer Society through its donations to Relay For LIfe for the past 20 years. On behalf of everyone at Relay For Life of Clinton County, members would like to extend a heartfelt "thank you" for your continued support. Donations like these provide local cancer survivors with accurate information and support.
Funds also go towards cancer research, as it is the goal of the American Cancer Society to end cancer as we know it.
