Holly Beaver, executive director for The New Lover Center in South Avis, emphasized to Lock Haven Kiwanis the majority of the neighbors the non-profit serves are right here in Clinton County. Beaver spoke to the club during its recent meeting, outlining the organization's mission and providing a glimpse into what the future holds. The New Love Center provides food to those in need in the community, without any requirements or referrals, through its homebase along with mobile pop up pantries in area communities such as Lock Haven and Beech Creek. The New Love Center recently partnered with the Clinton County Veterans Affairs office to help its MilitaryShare -- which provides food to veterans and widows of service members once a month -- secure more grant funding to grow the program. Beaver also spoke to the club about the non-profit's goal to create a community center to provide space for cooking lessons, meal prep and other education at its location along Henry Street in South Avis. She noted funding to transform the 600 square foot room has already been secured and The New Love Center looks forward to continuing to grow its services to help its neighbors.
