CENTRE HALL — Centre Hall Fire Company opened its doors on May 14 for a free County Wide Bingo for patrons of the Senior Centers in the county.
This event was the first time that all of the centers were able to gather and play Bingo together. More than 100 seniors attended.
Centre County has six senior centers and each manager brought participants. The connection between the Centre Hall Fire Company and each of the senior centers was done through the Centre County Senior Center Coalition (CCSCC). The CCSCC nonprofit helps connect donations and amazing sponsored events like this one that the Centre Hall Fire Company was able to offer to the senior Bingo players.
Centre Hall Fire Company representative, Jenn Tice, said the event started with donuts, coffee and tea for participants before settling in for 30 games of Bingo and trivia hosted by Abby Tice during the lunch period.
“This event was totally free to all of the seniors that attended,” Tice said.

Nicole Eckley, CCSCC supervisor, said they were “so grateful for the Centre Hall Fire Company’s generosity. They put smiles on a lot of the faces of local seniors who enjoyed Bingo, prizes and a homemade lunch. The lasagna and cupcakes were a huge crowd pleaser.”
In addition to the home-made lasagna, salad and bread, there were cupcakes donated by Delectable Delights by Heather Luse for dessert.
Bingo prizes ranged from heating pads, arthritis gloves and pill minders that were donated by Jenn Tice and friends; homemade purses by Susan King; bird feeders made by Kim Keller-Domin and blankets that were donated by Diane Bierly.
“Everyone had a good time and we look forward to doing another event just like this in the fall. Centre Hall Fire Company loves to partner with county organizations and show our support of our senior population,” Tice said.
