Carli McConnell named BPW Girl of the Month
JERSEY SHORE — The Business and Professional Women’s Club Girl of the Month for November is Carli Morrow McConnell, daughter of Jenn and Bill McConnell of Waterville.
Carli’s activities include Prom Committee, Young Democrats Club, Class of 2021 Secretary, one year; Constitutional Convention, two years; Class Committee Secretary, Homecoming Committee, Track and Field, three years; Cross Country, FBLA, National English Honor Society, four years.
Carli has served as the secretary for the Class Committee throughout her 9th, 10th, and 11th grade years. She was also the FBLA secretary during her freshman year, Model UN and Constitutional Convention Treasurer during her sophomore year, and secretary of the Young Democrats Club during her junior year.
Outside of school, Carli is heavily involved with volunteering with the PA Trail Dogs Organization which maintains trails and helps with local races. In addition, Carli has worked at McConnell’s Country Store every year since her 10th grade year. Carli was selected for the 9th grade Jersey Shore Lioness Student of the Month award, is a varsity letterer in both Cross Country and Track and Field, was the girls captain for the Cross Country team, and is a current school record holder for the Jersey Shore girls 4×800 meter relay team.
During her sophomore year, Carli was selected as a homecoming representative for the 10th grade class, and during her junior year, she was selected as a representative from Jersey Shore for the Penn College Youth Leadership Program. Carli has also attended the highly selective Wildlife Leadership Academy in the summer before her junior year.
Carli enjoys trail running and hiking, as well as kayaking in the summer. She loves to read outside of school as well as watching films and analyzing them. Carli also enjoys writing in her free time. She plans to attend college to major in Environmental Studies and International Relations.
