After nine years together Brittany Kunes and Carl Merrill Jr. finally tied the knot!

The high school sweethearts got married on Aug. 31, 2019 surrounded by loving friends and family at Millstone Farm and Inn. The ceremony was officiated my Pastor Kathleen Danley.

The bride is the daughter of Dan and Nicole Kunes of Beech Creek. The groom is the son of late Carl Merrill Sr. and Crystal Dugan Okezie of Harrisburg.

Brittany’s two sisters, Morgan Bechdel was matron of honor, and Sarah Kunes was maid of honor. Other bridesmaids included Abby Bradley and Bethany Heaton.

Cody Bradley was Carl Jr.’s best man. Other groomsmen included Brice Royer, Brandon Merrill and Brad Rupert. Carl Jr.’s nephew Ryder Dorman was the ring bearer while Brittany and Carl Jr.’s 3-year-old son, Hunter Merrill, carried a sign reading “Daddy Here Comes Mommy” down the aisle.

The couple celebrated the day with many personal touches like a pickle bar, crocs worn by the bride and all bridesmaids, a tree ceremony and one very special detail, a tractor. Displayed in front of the barn was a newly renovated 1950 Farmhall M International Harvester tractor that Carl Jr. restored in memory of his father.

DJ Corey Bauer helped to get the party started with the crowd dancing to country songs from over the years, to singing “Let It Go”, from the bride’s favorite movie “Frozen,” by the end of the night.
