CMHS alum graduates from Marine Corp training

MILL HALL -- Mill Hall resident and local Central Mountain High School graduate Carson Couturiaux has reached an exciting and meaningful milestone in his journey to serve his country, graduating from United States Marine Corps recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island.
Just 12 days after graduating from high school, Carson shipped off to Parris Island, S.C., to begin the demanding journey of becoming a Marine. Over the following weeks, he faced the physical and mental challenges of recruit training, requiring determination, discipline, perseverance and commitment.
On Sept. 11, 2026, Carson proudly graduated from Marine Corps recruit training during a remarkable graduation ceremony attended by his family. The day was filled with pride and celebration but also carried a bittersweet feeling as Carson officially closed one chapter and prepared to begin the next.
Before beginning his military journey, Carson was a member of the CMHS basketball team, where he developed the teamwork, dedication and perseverance that have continued to serve him well.
Carson’s journey is far from over. Following recruit training, he will continue his Marine Corps career by heading to Infantry Training Battalion (ITB), where he will receive additional training and prepare for his future role in the Marine Corps.
His family and loved ones are incredibly proud of Carson and all that he has accomplished in such a short time. From walking across the high school graduation stage to earning the title of United States Marine just three months later, Carson’s journey is one that his hometown can proudly celebrate.
