Digital artist to present at May BEAL meeting

WILLIAMSPORT -- Digital artist Paul Bozzo will be demonstrating how he manipulates and combines his images using Adobe Photoshop Elements and the Nik Suite on his laptop to make photographic prints.
His presentation will be at The Taber Museum on Thursday, May 4, from 7-8:30 p.m. The Thomas Taber Museum is located at 858 W. 4th St., Williamsport. This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
Paul's interest in "art" began at a young age.
"In grade school, I made page after page of airplanes, tanks and underground bunkers. In high school, I was a model student in the classroom, sort of. I did not fool around in my classes because I was busy making drawings in the margins of my notebooks," Paul said. "I attended Mansfield State College and majored in Art Education. I taught Elementary Art in Mansfield for 32 years and then supervised Art student teachers for six years at my alma mater. All the while, I was developing my techniques to produce my textured paintings."
In retirement, Paul also became interested in photography.
He joined the Grand Canyon Photo Club in Wellsboro and learned much at the photo club.
"Mostly I learned how to buy expensive 'stuff.' I became interested in what many call the digital darkroom which encompasses the many photo editing programs that are available (for a price). I especially enjoy combining images," he stated.
A few years ago, he began experimenting by combining images of his paintings with his landscape photos. Paul developed his own way of mounting and framing his photos. He discovered a way to frame them the same way he framed his paintings. The high point of his retirement "career" came in the year of COVID. He made and framed nearly 300 paintings and photographs.
