Bellefonte Buskerama brings music to the streets July 26

BELLEFONTE — The Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association (BHCA) strives to make Bellefonte more interesting. One way to help a small town emulate a more stimulating big city is by adorning its downtown streets with busking musicians.

Since foot traffic in Bellefonte can’t compare with that found in Philadelphia, the Big Apple, or Pittsburgh, a subsidy is required and BHCA is supplying it.

On Friday, July 26, BHCA will bring two individual musicians and one duo to perform downtown. They are Dusty the Kid, a well-traveled banjo player, the duo of Miss Melanie and Jay Vonada (vocals and trombone), and Nathan Cutshall (mostly harmonica).

BHCA has created a musical trifecta for this coming Friday to entertain people ambling around town. The free music can be found along the shady side of South Allegheny Street between the Courthouse and Bishop Street.

Musicians will play simultaneously from 6 to 8 p.m. Optimistic amateurs are encouraged to bring their instruments downtown to try their luck along with the pros.

BHCA hopes to create a celebratory atmosphere on an otherwise quiet Friday evening.

Where else in Centre County can you hear so much music by just strolling around?

Come wander down Allegheny St. this Friday and bring some folding money to encourage our buskers.

Starting at $3.69/week.
