LOCK HAVEN — The Clinton County Arts Council Education Committee has awarded a scholarship and a sponsorship to two Clinton County area students.
Earlier this year, Katelyn Bowman was selected for the Jeff Gummo/CCAC scholarship for the arts. It is awarded annually to a graduating senior pursuing a higher degree in the arts which can include art, music, dance, architecture, culinary arts, theater, film, animation, graphic design or any related field.
The Uptown Music Collective Sponsorship is new this year and was recently awarded to Addison Garbrick.
The CCAC worked closely with the Keystone Central Foundation and Uptown Music Collective to create the sponsorship which is to be awarded annually to a Clinton County student who is entering the UMC program.
The procedure for applying is for any Clinton County student to apply and be accepted by UMC for one of their music programs. That student then applies for the CCAC/UMC Sponsorship by reaching out to the Keystone Central Foundation for an application. Applications are reviewed and finally one student is selected each year. The qualified age criteria follows the UMC guidelines starting at age eight.
Members of the CCAC Education Committee are Rich Wykoff, Joyce Gummo, Sheila Russo, Michelle Gummo, Joe Waltz and Mary Coploff.
CCAC Board Members are Steve Getz, President; Machell Alexander-Bressler, Vice President; Sheila Russo, Treasurer; Carol Cillo; Mary Coplo; Rich Wyko; Joe Waltz; Jennifer Deitlo and Laura Jameson.
