Otto Bookstore to host panel to showcase importance of outdoor recreation to the region
WILLIAMSPORT — The Otto Bookstore will host three key figures in Northcentral Pa. for a panel discussion highlighting the impact of outdoor recreation across the region, from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 6.
“Outdoor recreation is not only part of our culture, it’s one of our greatest economic and community assets,” said Ta Enos, author of Proudly Made and CEO of the Pennsylvania Wilds. “By valuing our landscapes, we can continue to strengthen our towns, share our resources with the world and build a brighter future together.”
Enos will be joined by Kim Wheeler of SEDA-Council of Governments and Jason Fink of the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce for a wide-ranging discussion on how outdoor recreation supports community vitality, tourism and economic development.
Kathryn Nassberg, co-owner of the Otto Bookstore, is excited to welcome Ta, Kim and Jason to the store for a meaningful discussion to highlight local voices shaping the region’s future.
“Our community has always been deeply connected to the outdoors, and this conversation will shine a light on how that connection can continue to benefit local families, businesses and visitors,” Nassberg said.
In addition to the panel conversation, Enos will share insights from Proudly Made, her book that chronicles the story of the Pennsylvania Wilds and the communities that embraced their landscapes to create new opportunities. Copies will be available for purchase, and Enos will sign books following the program.
The free event begins at 10 a.m. at the Otto Bookstore, 107 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.
