MILLHEIM — Keystone Central School District art teacher Jennifer Crum-Wilson has a new exhibition of solo works on display currently on the walls of Elk Creek Cafe in Milheim to close out 2025.
Jenn Wilson has been teaching art to students in public schools for almost 24 years; she has been employed by KCSD since 2007.
Wilson is currently an art teacher at Central Mountain Middle School, teaching mostly 7th graders, as well as full-time elementary art teacher at Mill Hall Elementary School.
When not teaching art, Wilson enjoys creating her own work. She uses the surname JE Crum when showing her work.
A series of mixed media pieces Wilson created about the moon entitled “Realms” is the main feature of the show, as well as a few other large and colorful pieces. When explained about the work, the artist elaborated: “The Realm series is a body of work based on imagery related to the moon. I get inspiration often for my art reading literature based on mythology and beliefs about astrology from ancient times. A statement I read stuck with me about how ‘the sun is constant but the moon is considered the guardian of time’. I kept this concept in my mind when I began these works for two months in solitude while staying in the woods during the summer of 2024. As the works developed, I found each circular form that is still supposed to be a moon to represent a realm that each tells its own narrative visually. The works exhibit characteristics of dream-like imagery, incorporating representations, portraits, animal forms set in surreal nature settings.”
